Step back into the 1860s and see the boys of summer play nine “frames of Base” that new-fangled game of ball that is taking America by storm.  Watch the Mighty Hingham Coopers take on their arch-rivals the Bristol Blues. This fast paced “small ball” game is played without mitts, agents, trainers or wages. In vintage fashion they compete by the old and honorable rules which allow the hidden ball trick, the spitter, the foul ball double play and a demonstrable ignorance of balk rules.

The Wareham Summer of Celebration is sponsoring the vintage ball game and the Wareham Gatemen are sponsoring the Downtown Boston Brass Band. So head on down to the ball field for an evening of “olde tyme” fun and entertainment!
